Can the devices be used outdoors?

Of course the devices can be used outdoors. But you have to be careful here. During the entire rental period the customer is responsible for the devices. That means if the customer has the devices standing outdoors and it rains, then they have to make sure the devices don't get wet and don't get damaged. Whether that means having them under a roof or checking the weather forecast and bringing them inside in time, that's up to the customer. The devices are not waterproof by default. But of course they can be placed outdoors. There are only devices like an LED TV or devices that have a screen, and sunlight can reflect on those.
